Your Sussex Wedding - February/March 2025 (Issue 113)

A guest’s daughter is an art student and designed our on-the-day stationery, creating a bespoke jewel theme for the table plan, table names, place names and other signage. The tables were named after jewels, with the exception of two for a group of my friends, which were named Steel and Magnolias after the movie we all share a love for. Dan and I sat at a sweetheart table called The Jewells with a flower wall and neon sign behind us. Bejewelled blossom trees sat either side. Dan wore a custom-made three-piece suit in a mid-blue colour, which reflected the blue-ish based colour palette. His buttonhole reflected the flowers in my bouquet, and he wore cufflinks engraved with ‘meet me at the altar’ on one, and our wedding date on the other. Our tables had huge Martini glasses filled with fairylights and bright, vibrant flowers with crystal jewels tumbling from the edges. They sat on mirrors to reflect the colours and jewels. The jam jars of flowers were also moved from our ceremony area to fill the tables. I accessorised with a Tiffany pearl necklace given to me by Dan, along with another pearl necklace and matching drop earrings. I also had a pearl and fresh flower wrist corsage and hair comb made to match my bouquet. I wore a sheath dress with a cowl back and draped bodice. I loved its simple design and plain crepe material with its peekaboo lace at the back and the top of the bodice. The spaghetti straps were just right for a summer wedding. 39 REAL WEDDINGS
