The Castle has many magnificent rooms that can be used to stage your fairytale day, including the grand State Rooms and the stunning horseshoe staircase with its famous steps down to the Italian Terrace and South Lawns. Here, you have the choice of two locations when it comes to the “I dos,” the beautiful Ceremonial Hall with its double height ceiling, seating up to 100, or the South Lawns with the fabled Greco-Roman façade as your backdrop or altar with space for up to 180. Castle Goring isn’t open to the public, which assures you exclusive use for the duration of your big day. The Castle itself caters for intimate wedding parties of up to 26 where you can dine at the table formerly used at Buckingham Palace, or up to 50 in the Entrasol overlooking the lawns via the Italian Terrace. The latter is decorated simply allow you to style as you wish, and it’s also ideally positioned for dancing later on. Meanwhile, the Ceremonial Hall is ideal for larger parties and live bands. On the first floor, accessed by the Bryon Passage, there’s an enfilade of three large interconnecting State Rooms, known as the Aphrodite Drawing Room, the Galba Drawing Room and the Library. These are perfect for enjoying reception drinks and for after-dinner relaxation. In the Aphrodite Drawing Room there’s a finely tuned piano, which may be used by professional pianists if desired, at no additional charge. The Bridal Suite, named in honour of the great romantic couple who owned the Castle originally, Mary and Percy Shelley, is perfect for getting ready the morning of the wedding. Filled with natural light, the room also boasts an imperial-sized bed with a fantastic domed canopy and exquisite French furniture. Having a photo taken with the bridesmaids in the roll-top bath has become quite the tradition among the Castle’s brides!
