Your Sussex Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 110)

LOOKING THE PART The bride looked stunning in her fitted Mikado mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline by Anna Sorano, Stefano. She had a handmade belt attached to it, and wore it with a pearl embellished veil. “I walked into the boutique thinking I wanted an A-line dress with straps. But after trying one on I reliased it didn’t suit my shape,” Chloe explains. “So, the lady helping me made a suggestion and I instantly loved it. It was everything I’d never have chosen myself, yet it made me feel elegant, confident and like a real bride.” Lewis wore a slim fit tweed suit in stone and his groomsmen were dressed to match. Meanwhile, the bridesmaids were dressed in dark green dresses with angel sleeves and a draped bodice. The little flowergirls looked oh-so cute in ivory dresses with matching sash. CELEBRATE IN STYLE The newlyweds’ 96 day guests were surprised by singing waiters during the wedding breakfast, and wasted no time in rising to their feet for a boogie. “They were a definite standout part of our day,” Chloe shares. “Seeing everyone up out of their chairs, laughing, singing and dancing together was an incredible feeling and atmosphere.” There was also a bouncy castle and inflatable helter-skelter for the children along with a giant four-in-row. In the evening, a local band look over the entertainment, which was followed by a silent disco into the night. MEMORABLE MOMENTS While the couple were both nervous before the ceremony, afterwards they felt nothing but overwhelming joy. Although there was a brief troubling moment for Chloe, when ready for her big entrance she heard that Lewis was AWOL! The photographer and videographer launched a search party checking the toilets and all around. Eventually, they found the groom in the lake house, sitting on the sofa, taking a few minutes of peace and quiet to himself. “This sums Lewis up perfectly, and we had a good laugh about it,” Chloe says. They got him back up to the field and Chloe was ready to proceed with take two of her entrance. The bride also remembers fondly the speech by her best friend and maid-of-honour. “It was incredibly touching and meant so much to me,” she says. “She also had close friends and family write me a letter, which were presented to me in a book the evening before. It’s something I’ll cherish forever.” TOP TIPS “Don’t overthink it or worry, everything will turn out perfectly and if anything’s missing, the only person who’ll know or be bothered about it is you,” Chloe says. “And even then, you’ll feel so much joy on your big day, and will be so happy that it simply won’t matter. Take all the help you’re offered because many hands make light work! Focus your energy on what you and your partner want and that’s all that matters.” REAL WEDDING 29
