Your Sussex Wedding - June/July 2024 (Issue 109)

I wore an A-line satin dress with lace three-quarter length sleeves and a long train called Capri by small British designer, House of Nicholas, along with a cathedral-length veil with lace trim. I’d always imagined I’d wear an A-line with lace sleeves, so when I saw the dress I knew it was the one. Green Fig Catering were amazing. They served canapes at our arrival drinks, a three-course traditional wedding breakfast and then a giant cheeseboard of Sussex cheeses and cold meats in the evening. Our centrepieces were vases of flowers put together by our amazing florist, Charlotte from Infusion Flowers. The tables were also decorated with small tea lights, gold-framed table names and blush pink napkins. Gosh Patisserie in Worthing made our three-tier cake, which included fruit cake, strawberry and Champagne, and lemon flavours. Each tier featured a different style of icing. Our topper was a bride and groom with a dachshund, and our florist provided some flowers to decorate it. Our tables were named after Sussex villages that mean something to us, such as Alfriston, Wilmington, and Cuckfield. We made the table plan ourselves and had it printed on a large foamex board, which we placed on a wooden easel. My father-in-law makes a famous walnut vodka liqueur so he created a special batch for us as wedding favours, which we served in small bottles with personalised labels. 40
