Your Sussex Wedding - June/July 2024 (Issue 109)

Our theme was a traditional English country garden vibe with a nod to Sussex, as we’ve lived here for most of our lives and love spending time in the countryside. There were a few dachshundinspired touches too! Our flowers were a mix of pink and white with some blue blooms to represent our something blue. We chose roses, delphiniums, freesias and huge peonies, which were in season. Charlotte is an amazing local florist, and her arrangements were stunning. We travelled to and from the church in a white 1954 Bentley R-Type from Chariots Chauffeurs. We really loved arriving at the venue in the car, hearing the string quartet playing and being handed a glass of Champagne! Ted wore a navy herringbone suit with blush pink tie. His groomsmen all wore the same, but Ted stood out with a larger buttonhole. Derek, our dachshund, had a matching suit too! Our wedding ceremony was really special, particularly the music including pieces sung by the choir and three very sentimental readings. A string quartet played, both at the church and drinks reception at Hendall. Ted and I love classical music and I walked down the aisle to Canon in D. Our guests commented that our wedding felt classy and laid back at the same time, which was exactly what we wanted. 39 REAL WEDDINGS
