Your Sussex Wedding - December/January 2023/2024 (Issue 106)

The arrival was the best feeling. Our entrance song was Sunchyme by Dario G. Our unsuspecting guests didn’t know how we were going to arrive and it was the talk of the wedding! My transport was a white Rolls Royce Ghost, and Michael’s friend, Christian, owns a helicopter so he was more than happy to fly him in. We had a choice of five canapés and our wedding breakfast was a traditional roast dinner followed by a trio of puddings. In the evening we all enjoyed a hog roast with salads and a cheese table with crackers and chutneys. A big part of my outfit was the Christian Louboutin tan shoe with red sole. During the ceremony the estate’s ducks seemed to gravitate toward them. I was later informed that they like the colour red! Laura Rushbridge, our celebrant, personalised our ceremony to the point where I cried when I first read it though. Our flowergirls’ dresses were blue floral, which they wore with little white ballet shoes. Pageboy Jack wore a navy suit to match his uncle Michael’s, while Luca wore little blue shorts and a white T-shirt to complement his uncle Nick. We asked our groomsmen to wear blue but we didn’t pick their suits or restrict their choices. We found our wedding favours on Etsy. They were silver key bottle openers with a tag that read: ‘The key to happiness is love and the ability to open a bottle.’ Very fitting for us as Michael loves his cider and I love a G&T!
