The barn and its idyllic surroundings can be found in the grounds of Dorset House School, one of the oldest prep schools in the country. Steeped in history, records of the Manor date back to the Domesday Book. In addition to its stunning riverside setting and views, the Bury Manor Barn site includes several distinct areas including an amphitheatre with lighting to extend time spent outside. There’s also a peaceful walled garden with shady areas for hot days, perfect for guests to congregate for group shots. The fabulous covered terrace area with elevated views of Amberley Castle and the South Downs is ideal for a champagne reception. Meanwhile, the woodland area with a wonderful avenue of beach trees, and the magical pond with jetty and weeping willow overhead both offer idyllic spots for those all-important couple photos. Ceremonies take place in the beautiful inner barn or outside in the amphitheatre with stunning views across the Wildbrooks and River Arun. The venue holds a civil wedding licence here for 130 loved ones. Receptions are hosted in the 16th-century outer barn, which is divided into two distinct areas by a pretty glazed wall. There’s also the freedom to decorate according to your chosen theme. The barn has retained its original wooden beams, which you’re free to dress. There’s also a superb state-of-the-art LED lighting system in place. The inner barn is also available for receptions if not being used for the ceremony, and can accommodate 108 nearest and dearest seated at banquet rounds. For the wedding breakfast and reception, the inner and outer spaces combined can hold up to 228 guests.
