FALL IN LOVE I’m having an autumn-themed wedding, but I’m not sure what to choose for my jewellery. Do you have any suggestions? We highly recommend incorporating elements that symbolise the season’s natural elegance for an autumn-themed wedding. One beautiful way to do this is by choosing jewellery that features a delicate leaf pattern. This pattern represents growth, change, and new beginnings – perfect for the start of your married life and creating a deep connection with the season. Pairing this design with rose gold adds an extra layer of warmth and sophistication. The soft, blush tones of rose gold complement the rich hues of autumn, from the deep reds and burnt oranges of the leaves to the golden light of the season. It’s a metal that feels timeless and modern, adding a touch of romantic elegance to your bridal look. For an autumn wedding, the cake can beautifully reflect the season’s deep, warm colours and rich, comforting flavours When it comes to flavours, consider the following: Spiced carrot cake: A moist, spiced carrot cake infused with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves offers cosy warmth, embodying autumn. Topped with cream cheese or maple frosting, it echoes the comfort of the season. Pumpkin spice: This quintessential autumn flavour blends cinnamon, ginger, and allspice, creating an inviting taste. Paired with a creamy cream cheese frosting, it’s as satisfying as a crisp fall day. Apple cinnamon: A moist apple cinnamon cake bursts with the flavours of fresh apples and warm spices. Caramel buttercream or cream cheese frosting, making each bite a tribute to the season’s bounty. Chocolate and hazelnut: For something richer, a chocolate and hazelnut cake delivers deep, nutty flavours that are both decadent and comforting. Wrapped in chocolate ganache frosting, it’s a luxurious nod to autumn’s richness. Maple pecan: The sweet, earthy flavour of maple syrup combined with the crunch of pecans perfectly reflects autumn’s natural abundance. The cake’s design can also incorporate the season. Here are some ideas: Rustic elegance: A semi-naked cake with layers peeking through delicate frosting, adorned with figs, pears, and berries, captures rustic sophistication. Sprigs of rosemary or thyme add an earthy touch. Autumn leaves: A cake decorated with edible leaves in shades of red, orange, and gold captures the essence of fall. A delicate gold leaf adds a touch of luxury. Woodland theme: A birch tree stump cake, adorned with edible mushrooms, pinecones, and moss, brings a whimsical, forest-like atmosphere to your wedding. Cupcake bouquet: For a charming twist, consider a cupcake bouquet, where individual cupcakes are decorated to resemble a floral arrangement using autumnal colours and flavours. Cupcake tower: A cupcake tower offers a delightful and versatile alternative to a traditional cake. Each cupcake can be decorated with autumn-themed designs, such as leaves, pumpkins, or flowers. This design not only provides a beautiful display but also allows guests to enjoy a variety of flavours. These flavours and designs beautifully weave the warmth of autumn into your wedding, making the cake as memorable as the day itself. Saturdays in the summer months are the most popular dates and for some venues, you will need to book these dates at least two years in advance. You can get away with less popular winter dates at the last minute without too much trouble. However, you cannot afford to delay booking the peak June, July, August and September months. Fridays are now popular and in many ways, they are more suitable, as guests can make the day into an extended ‘early weekend’ with some guests staying over on Thursday the night before the wedding. You will always get a much wider choice of dates on Fridays at any venue. Provided there is no other major function on the Thursday, the tables and function room can usually be set up leisurely by the staff and bride and groom the day before your wedding. You should also be able to get rooms available for your party of guests or those travelling long distances on the Thursday. Sundays before bank holidays are in demand, though some venues will not accept weddings on prime bank holiday weekends.
