Your South Wales Wedding - September/October 2024 (Issue 99)

Being from a farming background, I always wanted an agricultural snippet at the wedding, so we had a white Land Rover Discovery from My Day Wedding Cars to transport us. It was one of my favourite parts of the whole day! I made Welsh cakes as favours and dog-friendly versions for people to take home for their pooches. Our other favour was two polos packed together with the sticker ‘mint to be together’ on. Our cake was a white three-tiered design from Cake Me Away. It had a Victoria sponge bottom layer, chocolate for the middle, and lemon for the top. We also included our dog on the topper! All of the catering was done in-house by The Old Rectory Hotel. I made wedding newspapers to scatter among the tables, which were a huge hit with our guests! They loved reading through them. We also placed candles and gypsophila bunches on the tables as centrepieces. We tried to keep things minimal and in keeping with our colour scheme. We saw a few venues during our search, but we fell head over heels for The Old Rectory Hotel. It had the perfect grand country house vibe, which we both loved. The views are amazing and the building is beautiful. 40
