Your South Wales Wedding - July/August 2023 (Issue 92)

Seasonal ROMANCE Local photographers show how you can capture stunning images throughout the year The weather can often be a deciding factor on what time of year you get married. It’s great to plan, but as we all know the weather in Wales can be unpredictable, meaning you can still get rain in the summer and sunshine in the autumn, so it’s important not to dwell too much on the what ifs and instead prepare for all climates. To help you decide when to tie the knot, we’ve asked local photographers to share some of their favourite seasonal images… Winter “Never be afraid of the rain. In the last 10 years, I have been doing this, I’ve become a sort of weather expert and, most of the time, I manage to miss the rain. When your photographer says it’s time, get ready to go!” – Katie Radford from KEM Radford Photography. www.kemradfordphotography.co.uk “For winter weddings, make sure you plan your day around the light, if the sunset is at 4pm, have an earlier ceremony so you get the most out of your couple photos, group shots and special moments.” – Laura Rees from Laura Mae Rees Photography. www.lauramaerees.com www.aj-photography.org www.pembrokeshirestudio.co.uk www.oliverreesphotography.com www.mamentophotography.com “My advice for anyone worrying about the weather is to embrace what you have, choose a photographer you trust, and go with whatever they say. Try to be flexible on times so that you can go out and get the best light possible in the finest weather possible.” – Sarah Mackay from Mumford Photography. www.mumfordphotography.com 65 PHOTOGRAPHY
