Your South Wales Wedding - January/February 2022 (Issue 83)

Pretty much all of our guests were, like us, hugely into their food. So trying to settle on a wedding breakfast that would suit the relaxed feel we wanted for the day and, most importantly, be delicious was very hard! We finally decided on a barbecue, and the team at Mad Hatters Catering Limited did not disappoint. Even now, people are still talking about it. It was hands down the best barbecue we’ve ever had. We also had pizza in the evening, and once again, the catering team surprised us, the pizzas were made fresh, and they offered so many varieties. Jed chose a green tweed three-piece suit from Hawkes Bespoke Outfitters. It was tailored beautifully, and the sage green paisley ties and pocket squares I found for him and his best men from Etsy suited it perfectly. Jed wanted his best men to feel comfortable, so they both wore their own suits. I originally wanted a simple dress, but I ended up with an A-line satin design with a detailed lace and beaded bodice from Timeless Elegance Bridal. The wonderful in-house seamstresses created a back for me as the gown was originally backless. They did such a good job, and you would never know it was added on. I had the best shopping experience, everyone was so helpful, and I appreciated their opinions. I accessorised with earrings from Pandora that Jed bought me for Christmas a few years ago, a stunning veil and shoes from Dune. The bridesmaids opted for sage green dresses. I hated the idea of wearing something you don’t feel comfortable in, so the girls picked their own gowns, which came from far and wide and, surprisingly enough, the colours matched well. We had a fantastic live band called Vermillion booked through Entertainment Nation Ltd. They were such lovely and genuine guys. They learnt a song as a surprise for my stepdad as he was the person who organised the music. My nanny crocheted 100 tiny flowers to use as bunting along the barn, they were so delicate and precious to us, and we will treasure them forever. We also hired fairylights and had them draped from the beams of the barn. 35 REAL WEDDINGS
