Your South Wales Wedding - Page number 25 - September/October 2021 (Issue 81)

I wore a Paul Zeni gown called Demi from Bridal Lane. It was a delicate, fitted dress with lace detailing. I absolutely adored my dress, it fitted me perfectly on the day and was a pleasure to wear. Our humanist celebrant, Barbara Natasegara, helped construct a completely personalised ceremony and suggested we have a moment of reflection during the ceremony. We asked our harpist, Kathryn Anne Rees, to play for two minutes, and Barbara invited our guests to leave us well wishes on little wooden love hearts which we placed on a hay bale. Some of the messages were really heartfelt, and others were hilarious, rude and cheeky. The love hearts are now hung on a wish tree in our house. My bridesmaids wore pale pink dresses, which we got from Bridal Lane. The detail on the back of the gowns was simply beautiful. Ollie chose a Reiss dinner suit with a Hugo Boss dicky bow and cummerbund. On the morning of the wedding, we were both excited but very emotional. When we saw each other at the gate where we said our vows, our dog, Bob, got up out of the shade to greet me, which brought tears to mine and my father’s eyes. The band and DJ were cancelled due to the restrictions, but we asked the caricaturist, Mark Bowen, to come, and we are so glad he did. He was phenomenal and such a great guy. He had a huge round of applause from our guests on his departure, and he couldn’t do enough for us. REAL WEDDINGS 25
