Your South Wales Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 75)
REAL WEDDINGS 35 the right choice, as when he saw me, we both got emotional. I accessorised with a one-tier veil with pearls, a sparkly belt, earrings, a garter and an amazing pair of bespoke shoes.” Kevin opted for an Italian three-pier suit from Dyfed Menswear. “All the groomsmen wore the same but to make him stand out Kev had a different buttonhole,” explains the bride. “He also decided to have a pocket watch to create a discreet difference between him and the boys.” The bridesmaids chose peach, high neck chiffon dresses from Little Mistress in Debenhams. “There was lots of detail on the bodice and elegant straps,” Leanne adds. “I managed to pick a gown that they all loved with no fuss or arguments. As a gift, I bought them all matching earrings to wear on the day.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We decided not to have any entertainment during the wedding breakfast as our guests were a lively bunch who mainly entertained themselves,” says Leanne. “We opted for a DJ in the evening from Darren’s Discos as our friends and family love a good dance. He catered for everyone, and the dancefloor was never empty. He sent me a message afterwards to say what a great night he had and it was one of his favourite gigs, which was lovely to hear.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “We were both quite relaxed, but the nerves kicked in as soon as I put my dress on,” explains the bride. “We put so much effort into the day and were really looking forward to it. From start to finish our wedding was full of special memories, but my son, Dylan, walking me down the aisle was particularly memorable.” The couple were thrilled with the speeches. “They were amazing, full of sentiment and humour,” shares Leanne. “I did a slide show as part of my speech and Kev wrote a poem with some close to the belt humour, which was appreciated by all.” Their big day wouldn’t have been as special without the help of their suppliers and friends. “We enjoyed walking with Art by Design Photography around the grounds,” says the bride. “It gave us some time alone to take everything in. When we saw everything come together, it made all the hard work worthwhile, it looked amazing, and we still receive comments about how fantastic it was. Even after days of rain, the sun shone, and everything was perfect.” HONEYMOON “After many hours of researching, we finally decided to go to Secrets Maroma Beach, Riviera Cancun for two weeks,” shares Leanne. “The honeymoon was amazing from start to finish. The service was fantastic, and we were treated like VIPs. The staff literally thought of everything! We also did trips and got to see some of the sights, which was amazing.”
