Your South Wales Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 74)
REAL WEDDINGS We hired ceiling lights from Simply Elegant Weddings & Events which looked very pretty in the evening. We also chose a lovely wooden signpost from Made with Love Weddings & Events and signs from The Daisy Shack. In the evening, we offered blankets out to the guests and had a wooden crate containing flip flops for anyone with sore dancing feet. I’ve played in the Penclawdd Brass Band since I was 10 years old, so I wanted the band to be part of our day. The conductor, Tony, sourced and arranged all of the instruments and we couldn’t be more grateful. My uncle, Keith, played in the brass band which meant a lot to us considering he’d only had one rehearsal beforehand! Anthony opted for a navy suit from Dyfed Menswear, with a grey chequered waistcoat. On the morning of the wedding, he gave the groomsmen personalised socks and hip flasks as a gift. The bridesmaids chose navy floor-length dresses and silver shoes. On the morning of the wedding, I gave the girls Minnie Mouse silhouette earrings, silver bracelets with their initials on, clutch bags and silver shawls to keep them warm. Zoe Williams – Hairstylist placed the girls’ hair in an up do and incorporated gypsophila, which looked stunning. After the ceremony, we had Delyth Jenkins, a harpist, play for our guests while we had our photographs taken. She was so lovely, and it created a great atmosphere in the marquee. My dress was a Kenneth Winston gown called 1727 from Samantha K’s. I loved the back of it and felt so comfortable in it. My grampa, Dennis, passed away in 2002 and I wanted something of his with me on our special day, so I asked Delyth, the seamstress at Samantha K’s to sew a blue heart cut from one of his shirts into the back of my dress. 45
