Your South Wales Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 74)
We had Soul Lotta Funk play in the evening and they were fantastic, they kept the dancefloor full all night, and created a great atmosphere. They also did a DJ set incorporating lots of songs that we’d requested beforehand. As we had both the ceremony and reception in the same property, we wanted to make sure there was plenty of entertainment for our loved ones, so we turned one of the venue’s spare rooms into a games area. We had table football, a range of board games and a photo booth that was a hit with our guests. Iwan and the groomsmen wore checked blue suits from Slater Menswear with grey ties and pocket squares. I wore a dress from Laura May Bridal. It was simple at the front with an illusion lace back and lace-edged train. I found a delicate beaded belt on Etsy which was then sewn on by my seamstress. The day went beyond both our expectations, and we couldn’t have asked for more. We were really pleased with all of our suppliers, and everything went to plan. All of our guests commented on how good the food was and how attentive yet unobtrusive all the staff at De Courceys Manor were. A highlight of the day was the speeches. The best men, Matt and Chris, finished by getting all of the guests to sing Downtown by Petula Clark, which was a karaoke hit from the stag do. My bridesmaids opted for dark green floor-length dresses from Maids to Measure. REAL WEDDINGS 39
