Your South Wales Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue 72)
I felt calm on the day, and Matt was more nervous than me in the end. We were both super excited and couldn’t wait to celebrate with our friends and family. I had a dress made for me by the super talented Amy at Amy Mair Couture. I had tried on lots of gowns that I had saved on my Instagram over the years, but they didn’t suit me. Amy took all the features that I liked and combined them to create the perfect design. We hired a red Morgan in honour of my late grandfather. He never got to drive his Morgan as he became too ill by the time he got it. Our original transport company cancelled the booking three days before the wedding, but luckily we found Morgan Motor Company who stepped in. Matt had his suit made for him by Francis & Francis. He wanted a green outfit to go with our theme, but we struggled to find anything he liked. Francis & Francis let him pick every aspect of the suit, including how many pockets and buttons he wanted. In the evening, we had an amazing DJ called Matt Hayes-Lissack, who kept our guests entertained. He played all of the songs we requested and ensured everyone had a great time. We also had karaoke from Karaoke Hire, which was a massive hit after a few drinks. The bridesmaids’ dresses were from an Australian website called Shona Joy. I organised for them to go to my friend’s mother’s house in Australia and he kindly went and collected when he was there visiting. They suited all the girls and the colour fit perfectly with our theme. REAL WEDDINGS 53
