Everyone was roaring with laughter and waving their arms along to the music. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about them since. I have to admit, the morning of the wedding was quite stressful with so many of us getting ready in the same room and our hair and make-up artist working hard to make us look and feel like a million dollars. Once everyone was at the church and we were saying our vows we felt like we were on cloud nine. We knew it would be emotional, but I don’t think either of us realised how moving it would be standing in front of our loved ones making such profound promises. The speeches were extremely emotional and at times, hilarious. A lot of tears were shed and my parents have since sent me a copy of their speeches which I’ll cherish forever. Paul’s best man pretended his mobile was ringing and had to leave the room to take an urgent call. Before we knew what was happening, a video started playing on the big screen, which told the story of how we met with some rather embarrassing clips of me singing on a night out. Our wedding wouldn’t have been perfect without our incredible friends and families. My two sister-in-laws made the most stunning cupcakes and personalised gifts for the wedding party. My brother’s wife also made cones of confetti and my niece made a sign to go alongside the basket of flip flops that we placed near the dancefloor. The list is endless and we’d like to thank everyone for their help! The night before the wedding I stayed at The Cliff Hotel & Spa and Paul stayed next door at The Gwbert. The next morning, he left his things in his room and asked his groomsmen to transport them to my suite so they’d be there on the night of the wedding. The groomsmen handed his things in at reception, however, that’s where they stayed so we woke up the next morning with no clothes! He remembered his nan was staying in the room below us so without thinking he opened the sliding door, walked out onto the balcony and shouted down to her. Unbeknown to Paul, my sister-in-law, Susan, was also on the balcony next door, admiring the view. Let’s just say she saw more than she’d bargained for! 58
