Your South Wales Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 71)
Ceir y Cardi provided our transport. Once we were married, the team gave us a glass of champagne each and it gave us a chance to take a moment alone before we joined our guests at the reception venue. I wore a simple but elegant satin ballgown by Grace Philips called Adriana . I visited Pleser in Swansea and fell in love with the gown right away. It had crystal detailing around the neck, a cut out back and an unusual neckline. I knew I wanted something classic yet eye-catching and it ticked all of the boxes for me. Every time I went for a fitting, I didn’t want to take it off! I accessorised with a long, single-tier, satin-edged veil. It was secured in place with a comb that was decorated with the same crystals as my dress which had been sewn on by an incredibly talented lady in Cardigan. It was absolutely stunning and I’ve since put it in a memory box for my daughter, Charlotte, to wear on her wedding day. My maid-of-honour and four bridesmaids wore royal blue chiffon dresses with spaghetti straps from Laura May Bridal. The four flowergirls opted for ivory gowns, with lace detailing on the bodices and satin bows on the back from Debenhams. Paul wore a blue Italian tail suit with a matching tie and contrasting grey check waistcoat from Dyfed Menswear. His shoes were tan brogues, with suede detailing and I bought him personalised cufflinks as a present. Flowers were a major part of our wedding. The arrangements were bright pink and included some greenery. We hired Flowers by Annabel to create displays in the church, reception area and to supply my bouquet, bridesmaids’ posys, flowergirls’ corsages and groomsmen’s buttonholes. We chose a pink and blue table plan that we placed on an easel. REAL WEDDINGS 57
