Your South Wales Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 71)
We chose to have our ceremony at St Thomas’ Church in St Dogmaels. It holds a special place in my heart and it’s a beautiful setting alongside the ruins of a Medieval Abbey, which made the perfect backdrop for our photographs. For our centrepieces, we chose mirrored plates that we placed underneath large martini glasses filled with flowers. Our favours were jars of personalised M&M sweets. They were pink and white and featured our names and wedding date. I grew up in Cardigan and later moved to Cardiff when I was 18. When our daughter was born, we decided to move back to Cardigan as we wanted Charlotte to experience the same environment that I had. I took Paul to see The Cliff Hotel & Spa and he loved it as much as I did. It’s been transformed by the current owner and the views are second to none. Paul and I decided to decorate the venue with giant balloons and a sign that asked our guests to share their pictures on social media with a personalised hashtag. We wanted a simple, classic and elegant cake from Cake Carousel. It was made up of sponge, chocolate and red velvet and was decorated with ivory icing. 56
