Your South Wales Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 71)
For our honeymoon, we managed to get Glastonbury tickets and spent a week at Worthy Farm. Our amazing friend and usher, Ashley, organised everything for us. We saw some amazing bands, and once we returned, we took the kids to Greece for a week. We set up a play corner for the children with hula hoops and tin cans. In the night, we had a local band called Jukebox Weddings & Events perform. We’ve been to lots of their gigs in the past and knew they would be perfect. To tie in with our theme, we hired a rodeo sheep from A1 Jump and Bounce. It got everyone away from the bar for a while and was a big hit with the kids. I had six bridesmaids and asked them each to choose a pastel colour for their dress. I had seen multi-way gowns at my friend’s wedding and knew I wanted them at my wedding. I found The Daintyard on Etsy and saw they were doing a lovely dress at a really good price. I received them within three weeks, and the girls looked amazing. My dress was from Cardiff Bridal Centre. I tried on every style and was losing hope until I found a Morilee gown called Shelby. I knew it was the one right away, and it complemented my beloved denim jacket perfectly. My friend, Jennifer Kay, did my make-up. She had done a days work before getting ready herself, but she took it all in her stride and helped calm our nerves too. Sarah recommended my hairstylist, Kate Petersen Weddings, who was amazing. She went through different styles and incorporated my flower crown perfectly. Paul and the groomsmen chose their outfits from Dyfed Menswear. He was adamant that he didn’t want to wear a full suit and tie. He picked a brown tweed waistcoat, and the groomsmen wore socks that matched our colour scheme. They all looked very modern and dapper. REAL WEDDINGS 51
