MOMENTS THAT MATTER Booking a photographer is the next thing on our list, but we’re worried about booking someone online we’ve never met. How can we overcome this? ❤ With the number of photographers available, it’s understandable that you’re feeling overwhelmed. I get a lot of bookings from brides I’ve never met before the big day. Give your potential supplier a call and ask questions. You can even FaceTime or Skype if you find that easier. ❤ Make sure you read reviews carefully. Do you they feel genuine, and can they be verified? ❤ Can the company supply a copy of its insurance? Most venues insist on seeing it before the big day. ❤ Find out how many weddings they’ve photographed. ❤ Make sure you’re comfortable with their style. ❤ Above all, go with your instinct. If the price seems too good to be true, then it often is. James Matthews Photographer eyes2me.photography TIME TO CELEBRATE My wife-to-be and I can’t decide between a jazz band and something more modern. Do you have any suggestions? Jazz music is sophisticated, and the performers are usually immaculately dressed. If you’re having a stylish and elegant affair, then a fantastic jazz band would set the right precedent for your guests. Remember, the performer only does half the work – it’s up to the audience to do the rest. When you picture your big day, are you finger- snapping to cool jazz or dancing uncontrollably to Mr Brightside ? Answer that question, and you’ll know what type of supplier to book. Martin Goddard Director musichq.co.uk eyes2me.photography DELECTABLE DELIGHTS I love Welsh cakes and want to give them to our guests as favours. What flavours are popular? ❤ I recommend choosing something traditional to please the masses. ❤ Chocolate appeals to most people. Apricot, blueberry, cranberry and orange are also delicious options. ❤ Lemon and cinnamon complement most flavours and are very distinctive. Jo Roberts Owner fabulouswelshcakes.co.uk 80
