Your South Wales Wedding - Sep/Oct 2019 (Issue 69)

Seeing Richard waiting for me at the end of the aisle with a beaming smile was a magical feeling. My mum gave me away because my dad sadly passed away in 2011. She looked glamorous, and we were both very emotional. Our best friends got married at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel in 2016, and we had an amazing time at their wedding – so much so that we booked the venue for our nuptials the very next day. For the centrepieces, we chose pastel blooms placed in small pots. The tables were named after phrases, items and locations from the film Up. Richard and I chose a three-tier bake from DeVoli Cakes. It was covered in blue fondant and decorated with clouds, balloons and miniature suitcases. We had a personalised topper with figurines of us and our cat, Peppa, holding colourful balloons and a book. I created a replica of the iconic hand-printed mailbox from the film and a book full of photos from our relationship. 38
