Your South Wales Wedding - Jul/Aug 2019 (Issue 68)
As the big day got closer, I began to worry that we didn’t have enough decorations and impulsively hired light-up letters from Written in Lights. In hindsight, I’m so glad we did, as they created a gorgeous backdrop for our photographs. Instead of a traditional cake, we decided to have a doughnut tower. We purchased an acrylic stand off eBay and ordered delicious treats from Krispy Kreme in Newport. Our venue kindly put everything together for us on the morning of the wedding. I had an idea to name our tables after Bruno’s favourite places. We raced around South Wales, taking photos of him visiting various beaches and gardens. For our centrepieces, I asked Rachel from The Dancing Daffodil to create tall arrangements that would complement the marquee’s high ceiling. Marc and I wanted a light and airy setting for our big day. We considered hiring a marquee, but it worked out too expensive. My sister’s friend was getting married at Llechwen Hall Hotel, so we decided to visit. The minute I saw the marquee, I knew it was the perfect place for us, and we booked it straight away. Our day was perfect and we were so happy. It was the nicest feeling to look around the room and know everyone you love is there. 50
