Your South Wales Wedding - Jul/Aug 2019 (Issue 68)

REAL WEDDINGS 45  DRESSED TO IMPRESS Adrian chose a blue suit from Hugo Boss in Cardiff. “It was a fantastic fit, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful,” shares Adrian. “Alex wanted something more traditional as a nod to his Scottish routes. We hired a kilt from Slater Menswear in Cardiff and matching outfits for the men on his father’s side.” The groomsmaids wore dresses from 102 Couture. “We opted for blue gowns that tied in with our theme,” adds Adrian. “The girls looked fabulous, and I must admit if I could pull off a dress, I would have worn it myself.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We thought long and hard about how we wanted to entertain our guests,” Adrian reveals. “In the end, we chose a DJ. We also supplied a vodka ice sculpture and a magic mirror photo booth. During the first dance, we had white confetti cannons that made it feel like it was snowing.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “On the morning of the wedding, I felt very emotional, and my mum had to distract me,” explains Adrian. “I was excited and overwhelmed that our big day had finally arrived. Alex felt calm and collected until he see me walking down the aisle, at which point he was overcome with emotion.” Their big day was made extra special by Adrian’s mum, as he notes: “She added so much to the day and went out of her way to ensure we were happy. From making our centrepieces to ensuring I had everything I wanted, nothing was too much trouble for her.” The couple were thrilled with Be Our Guest Events and Party Central. “The staff went above and beyond,” shares Adrian. “They provided more than we asked for, and we’re now fabulous friends. Dewi Harris, the assistant events supervisor at Hensol Castle, was also great. He was always on hand to deal with any issues and made the process less stressful. Dom and Ruby, our photographers, helped keep me sane. Without these three suppliers, we wouldn’t have been able to create such a wonderful setting for our nuptials.” HONEYMOON “We’ve booked a 14-day cruise around the Mediterranean,” shares Adrian. “Our friends and family told us cruises are amazing, and as Alex is unable to fly, we thought we’d give it a go. The week following the wedding, we went to Bath and stayed at The Gainsborough Bath Spa. It was outstanding, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.”
