Your South Wales Wedding - Jul/Aug 2019 (Issue 68)
We wanted a relaxed, natural and modern feel to our big day. We opted for lots of greenery, with hints of copper and gold throughout. I had my heart set on a blue colour scheme, but it proved difficult finding things that matched. My dress was the Enzoani design Juri from Laura May Bridal. I saw it on Pinterest and knew it was the one . It was modern, elegant and I’d never seen anything like it before. I loved the detailed train, low back and diamanté spaghetti straps. My seamstress added a beaded belt, and I accessorised with a cathedral-length veil. Our welcome sign was from Handmade By Rose. I rested it on an easel I found on Facebook Marketplace that, with my dad’s help, we restained. Luke chose a blue French Connection suit from Moss Bros. My dad’s parents sadly weren’t with us at the wedding, so I asked my mum to sew the Douglas family tartan into the groomsmen’s and Luke’s suits as a way of representing them. It was understated and meant so much to me. We purchased string lights from Lights4Fun and hung them from the ceiling. The bridesmaids wore floor-length grey dresses with appliqué bodices from Little Mistress. REAL WEDDINGS 39
