Your South Wales Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 66)
Our colleague told us about The Old Rectory Country Hotel. The property is magnificent and offers some of the best views in Wales. We immediately clicked with the wedding planner, Jordan, and decided to book it during our first viewing. I stayed at the venue the night before the wedding, but Damian had always wanted to arrive in style. Mustang Weddings Wales Limited provided a 1967 Mustang to transport him and the groomsmen. It was a real crowd-pleaser and looked great in the photographs. We chose a three-tier cake from Lainey-Loos Cakey Bits. We told her what we wanted, and she used her imagination to create an amazing design. For our big-day blooms, we chose bright hues. The Flower Shop Ebbw Vale did a great job and also decorated the staircase, chairs and made a stunning flower arch. My dress was from All About Eve Bridalwear in Newport. I didn’t have a specific style in mind, only knowing that I wanted something with sleeves. The bridal consultant suggested a gown, and I immediately fell in love with it! My shoes and veil were from Jasmine-Rose Bridal, and I also wore a Swarovski necklace and a pearl bracelet from my late nan. We handmade direction signs, a photo ladder and a life size cut-out of us at a festival. 58
