Your South Wales Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 66)

We named our tables afters places we’d visited together. Exquisite by Design created beautiful floral cards that matched our flowers perfectly. For our centrepieces, we chose tall floral displays. I sent Best Buds by Samara a picture of the layout I wanted. When we first spoke, she didn’t have the vases I liked. But a few weeks later, I got a message saying she’d managed to source some! The cake was one of the first things we chose. We agreed there was only one place we wanted to get our big-day bake from: Heavenly Exquisite Desserts. We met with Jessie and explained we wanted flowers, a representation of New York, a rugby ball and our two pets incorporated into the design. When we arrived at the venue, one of the staff said they’d never seen anything like it! It was better than we ever could have imagined, and our loved ones are still talking about it now. I’m indecisive, so picking a colour for the flowers was very difficult! After we booked Bryngarw House, I met with Jan Holmes from Weddings & Events by Jan. She suggested a few companies and gave us their cards. I fell in love with Best Buds by Samara’s work and got in touch with her straight away. I sent her a picture of a display my friend had found and asked whether she could recreate it. She did a fantastic job, and we ended up planning our whole theme around it. One of my favourite moments was becoming husband and wife. It was an amazing feeling knowing I’d just married my best friend. We wanted a church wedding, and our local parish was the perfect choice. We got in touch with the reverend and organised it straight away. Planning our reception was a bit more difficult. Lots of our friends and family had recently tied the knot, so we wanted something a bit different. When we visited Bryngarw House in Bridgend, we instantly fell in love and knew it was the place for us. 52
