Our DJ from SGDJ Weddings was fantastic. She provided a busking speaker so that we could play a playlist during dinner, and she put on an incredible light and sound show for our guests in the evening. We have eclectic tastes in music ranging from heavy metal to folk and classical; goodness knows how she managed to cover everything, but she absolutely understood the assignment and everyone had a fantastic time. She also brought glow sticks and props, which went down a treat and gifted us many funny photographs! As neither of us are big dancers, we decided to have a lightsaber battle instead of a first dance. Our friend Johan created an amazing piece of music and we choreographed a fight scene, which I won! We had an amazing wedding and people still talk about what a magical day it was. We arranged every part of the day to be exactly what we wanted. Our celebrant, Kimberley Jones, created a brilliant ceremony filled with personal touches; it felt like she understood us on a very deep level. It was lovely, romantic, enthusiastic, funny and meaningful. All our vendors really threw themselves into our theme and it meant we had a wonderful time. During the drinks reception, we had the excellent Luke Bingham Magician perform. We received many compliments about his skills and ease of interaction with our guests. We hired owls from CSR Falconry to carry our rings during the ceremony. The team also brought a second owl so that our guests could meet the birds later and have photos taken with them. They were a massive hit, causing a bottleneck at the doorway! Our bridesmaids chose long dresses that they purchased themselves to ensure they got the style they wanted. I wore a black wedding gown from FairyGothMother with a red crown created by DjiniCosplay. I knew Edward was wearing his armour, so I had to really come up with something special to match that. I didn’t want to wear white, but I wanted to feel like a princess on my big day, so I set about creating a kind of super villain princess outfit fit for my Medieval king. My dress was huge but so comfortable and expertly finished that I was happy wafting about the castle in it! 39 REAL WEDDINGS
