Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - Page number 45 - August/September 2021 (Issue 84)
A natural, springtime feel ran throughout, with florals and greenery running up the marquee poles, hemp table runners and lavender and rosemary-tied napkins. My dad, who’s a stonemason, created a carved and gilded wedding sign. The men went with classic morning suits with cream double- breasted waistcoats. They looked great next to my bridesmaids who wore pale grey gowns in their own choice of style. Matching gypsophila crowns finished the look beautifully. We arrived in style in a chauffeur-driven blue and brass vintage 1926 Austin 12/4 Gordon, which was supplied by Age of Elegance. I wore a fitted Vera Wang halter-neck sheath dress. I loved Meghan Markle’s evening wedding dress, and I was eager to find a similar shape that would show off my shoulders and upper back. I accessorised it with a cathedral-length veil, coordinating flowers in my hair and dyed navy shoes from Rainbow Club. In the church, we had my 16-year-old niece perform an awesome film-music medley on flute, which was followed by six of our friends creating a choir to sing Grow Old With Me by Tom Odell. They were fantastic – you’d think they were professional! We also had an acoustic guitarist to set the scene before the wedding breakfast. REAL WEDDINGS 45
