Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - December 2020/Janaury 2021 (Issue 80)
Harry and his best man wore grey three-piece suits from Jeff Banks, while the other groomsmen rocked their own suits. They all had pink accessories so they looked very much like a cohesive group. My bridesmaids wore dresses from the wonderful Heart and Found on Etsy. They were able to pick their style, have it custom made and choose fabrics that matched the colour scheme. We enjoyed canapés after the ceremony; this got people mingling, which was just the atmosphere we wanted. For our sit-down meal we had sociable sharing bowls, again to keep conversation going. Bacon and sausage rolls in the evening recharged the batteries! I knew from the start that I wanted a tea-length dress. I still tried on a number of different styles (when else do you get the chance to try on lots of glamorous dresses?) but I knew that Polly by Brighton Belle was the one as soon as I put it on. Who knew wedding dresses could be so comfortable? I accessorised it with a hip-length veil and satin peep-toe shoes. The garden games were a big hit with young and old alike. We also hired a MySelfie booth, which you operate yourself – that was a definite win! We would recommend picking up some of your own props too; it added a real sense of individuality to the pictures. In the evening, DJ Cordell was fantastic. He read the crowd and inserted songs we’d requested at just the right moment – we danced pretty much all night. REAL WEDDINGS 41
