Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - Feb/Mar 2020 (Issue 75)
Lloyd looked amazing in a grey tailcoat with teal accessories, while my best girls rocked multiway dresses. It was great having such versatile styles – they looked gorgeous. From the first time I met Jan from Bride at Home I couldn’t imagine anyone else being in charge of my dress. She was so patient and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. I accessorised my La Sposa White One dress with a beautiful lace embroidered jacket and a pearl headpiece from Donna Crain, which was a gift from my dad. We love that the venue uses sustainable, local and seasonal ingredients so everything was fresh and delicious for our wedding breakfast. Similarly, the evening buffet was not your average reception food! We had tarts, salads, meats and breads – it totally exceeded our expectations. We wanted to show some of my Persian heritage in the day so we had a sofreh aghd – a Persian table tradition. It includes elements representing the bride and groom such as eggs for fertility, fruit for abundance, coins for prosperity, candles for light and a needle and thread to represent two becoming one. Taya’s top tip: Patience in planning is so important. Do your research, shop around and don’t forget you can save a lot of money by having your wedding on a weekday. REAL WEDDINGS 41
