Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 71)
It was important for both of us that we had a church ceremony, and it doesn’t get more beautiful than St Mary Redcliffe in Bristol. For the reception, we chose the grand Bristol Marriott Royal. It has the most fabulous ballroom with a glass ceiling, pillars and statues. Our daughter was also once in a TV show that was filmed there! We had a blush pink and gold palette and two themes entwined to represent us both: ballet for me and casino touches for the groom. We were lucky that my mum is really crafty and had the best ideas – she created lots of amazing décor for us. The cake was a chandelier-style hanging creation with three vegan-friendly tiers. It looked incredible and was decorated with blush pink lace and flowers. We also treated our guests to a gold chocolate candy cart, which my mum made. It featured Barbie dolls dressed to match the wedding party. Our flowers were a mix of artificial roses to match our colour scheme along with lots of greenery. We had topiary trees in gold pots adorned with coordinating blooms for the centrepieces. Champagne glitter cloths set off the tables beautifully, and they were each named after a playing card, with the top table being called Royal Flush. 52
