The colourful theme was reflected in our handmade table-runners and felt-ball bunting. Our guests were treated to a table of eight amazing cakes made by my mum: two coffee and walnut, two Victoria sponge, two lemon and two chocolate. Delicious! We gave a personal touch to the table plan with Polaroid photos of all of our guests on strings of lights attached to a board of painted wooden slats. The place settings and table names were lovely clay hearts. Our centrepieces were pretty milk bottle racks with mixed colourful freesias. My mum made gorgeous bouquets to match. The venue had a relaxed outdoor vibe, and it worked perfectly with our vision for the day: a happy, cheerful event with colourful pastel touches. 48
