Gorgeous gowns I’m really nervous about my first bridal appointment. Is there anything I should know before I go? Your magazine cutouts, Pinterest boards and Instagram likes can really give us a sense of the direction you’re going for – so feel free to bring these along, and we can go through them while having a cup of tea and a natter! Try to be as honest as possible about your likes and dislikes so we can get a real sense of your look and personality. There’s no point in pretending you like a gown for our sake; we want to find the dress of your dreams. Initial appointments at our boutique are generally an hour and a half. During this time, we can try on a range of styles to help guide you towards the one . It’s not essential, but it can be useful to wear neutral underwear and wear your hair and make-up in a similar way to how you’ll have it on the big day – this helps you to envision the complete look. Finally, keep an open mind and relax. So many of our brides have ended up buying something they never even thought of trying. You can always ask us for advice – we’re not only here while you find your dress but for your entire planning journey. There’s nothing more rewarding than receiving photos from a happy bride after their wedding. What do you suggest, and how much should we budget? Sweet tables are growing in popularity, as they allow you to have a centrepiece along with easy-to-eat items for your loved ones throughout the day. When considering something like this, it’s good to keep in mind that every mini cake, cupcake, macaron, etc. will be priced individually, and very often couples don’t know how much money the finished table will cost and how many items they need to make it look good. With this in mind, I’ve created three packages that allow brides and grooms the option to have matching sweets to go with their big-day bake at a fixed price. I usually offer meringue kisses, macarons and mini cupcakes along with decorated cookies, single-tier bakes and more.
