Your Somerset, Glos & Wilts Wedding - February/March 2025 (Issue 105)

We got legally married earlier in the month, meaning we could have more control over the ceremony content. During the ceremony, our celebrant, Kate, a close friend of ours, made us turn to our guests and look at everyone. She then invited them to agree to always support and love us. We highly recommend making time for a moment like this. We travelled between venues in a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. Hils wore a green, tweed three-piece suit with a beautiful cravat with pheasants on it. We had our children read out their favourite sayings from the book The Boy, The Horse, The Fox and The Mole, which in combination with our personalised vows and the signing of a family charter by us all made it really bespoke to us. We say we wish we’d been guests at our wedding, which I suppose means we hit our brief! I chose my dress for its simplicity and timeless elegance and accessorised it with simple pearl drop earrings. My older bridesmaids were dressed in burgundy gowns, while the flowergirls wore cream tutustyle dresses with pink sashes. Both had flower crowns to complement the palette. Our wedding was described as ‘organised chaos’! It was a brilliant, action-packed day that entertained, felt personal and represented us as a couple incredibly well. REAL WEDDINGS 27
