Your North West Wedding - February/March 2025 (Issue 90)

HOT TOPIC: wedding worries Our experts solve your problems FLUFFY FRIENDS We want to hire alpacas for our upcoming wedding, but we’re on a tight budget. Do you have any ideas on how we can save money? Alpacas are a great addition to any wedding, big or small. They entertain your guests, adults and children alike. Here at Wreay Syke Alpacas, our wedding package has a starting price that you can add to, so you can have as little or as much as you like. Most of our couples go for the basic package, but you can add all the bells and whistles with matching colour schemes and extra alpacas if you wish. If, however, you are on a tight budget, you can always ask your supplier whether they have any other options. Most alpaca owners will be happy to accommodate you to make your special day just as you would like it. We also offer an alpaca visit rather than our full wedding package. This is a shorter visit where we still dress our alpacas in their dickie bow ties and bring treats for guests to feed the alpacas, but we do not set up our decorated wedding pen. Your wedding is a one-off special occasion, so make sure you choose exactly what you want while keeping within your budget. Jane Colman www.wreaysykealpacas.co.uk CAPTURE THE MOMENT Our wedding is fast approaching and we’d like our big day photographs to be timeless with a few fun extras. What’s set to be the next big trend in the world of wedding photography? A timeless photography style never goes out of fashion, but adding a few playful, modern touches can make your big day feel even more personal. Here are some upcoming trends that blend classic elegance with fun: Candid storytelling: Natural moments that capture raw emotions are the foundation of timeless photography. To elevate this, photographers are incorporating editorial-inspired touches. Bold colour: While soft, muted tones have dominated in recent years, bold, vibrant colours are making a comeback. Retro flash: Photographers are embracing retro-inspired flash for a more playful, party vibe during the reception. This trend adds a modern twist to classic portraits and brings the celebration to life. Editorial getting ready shots: Photographers often focus on ceremony and reception shots, but the getting ready moments are becoming just as important. Photographers are using this time to create fun candid moments with your bridal party. The biggest trend? Making your photos feel authentically you. From capturing your personalities to highlighting special traditions, your photographer will work to ensure your photos feel timeless with a personalised twist. Christina Davies www.fish2.co.uk www.fish2.co.uk MUSIC TO MY EARS We’re looking for elegant music for our ceremony. Do you have any ideas? Choosing music for your wedding day can be an enjoyable yet overwhelming task. At Harmony String Quartet, we’re here to assist with all your musical needs. To set the perfect ambiance as your guests arrive, we recommend starting with classical selections that exude sophistication. Options like Pachelbel’s Canon in D, Air on the G String by Bach and Clair de Lune by Debussy create a beautiful atmosphere in any ceremony setting. As the service progresses, consider a blend of soft classical and modern choices. Heartwarming pieces such as All of Me by John Legend, Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley and A Thousand Years by Christina Perri can enhance the emotional moments of the day.
