Hue complete me Inspired by Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Peach Fuzz, a group of local suppliers worked together to create this romantic styled shoot Images courtesy of Rachel Ovenden Photography and DaisyBell Photography Margaret from Rose Hill Cake Studio tells us how this styled shoot came to be: “Peach Fuzz resonates fun, summer and whimsy and I felt I had to create a photo shoot based on this summery colour. I knew just the photographer who could help me create a stylish yet playful shoot – Katie from DaisyBell Photography. Being located in the Ribble Valley, she has created a great network of wedding suppliers who work throughout Lancashire and the North West. It was Katie who managed to pull most of the team together and who took my ideas and curated a beautiful moodboard. This set the tone for the images we wanted to create. “Crow Wood Hotel & Spa Resort, a well-known wedding venue nestled in the rolling hills of the Lancashire countryside, provided the perfect backdrop to our dreamy shoot. With the help of Genelle from Winnie Dot Lingerie Ltd., our bride started off the day wearing some glamorous lingerie and a pair of killer heels. In keeping with the romantic theme, Holly’s natural make-up and soft curls were finished with a black bow. All the accessories were supplied by Sarah Layton. These were swapped throughout the day to reflect the changing mood – more formal for the morning, turning to a sense of whimsy and play for the evening. “I knew the type of gown I wanted and the girls at Amelia’s Bridal Boutique, another established Lancashire wedding supplier, came up trumps. The statement ballgown added a sense of drama and opulence, especially when it was draped over the back of a vintage car supplied by Malvern Wedding Cars. I hunted high and low for the right car for the day and the team at Malvern came to our rescue. We dressed the groom in a classic black tuxedo. I know there are lots of colour options for men these days, but there is something elegant and timeless about a well-fitted black tux that cannot be beaten. “We wanted the flower arrangements to reflect the effortless chic of the shoot and Jen from Fleur Designs delivered this in spades. The tablescape, with its layers of fabric and the full skirt of the dress, were reflected in the layered details of the cake. I love working with textured fondant, so I chose to cover this three-tier cake with delicate peach-toned textured fondant. Additional details, such as small, coloured pears, royal icing details and sugar flowers, added variety to the design. Each petal was painted with gold lustre, adding to the sense of opulence. As a naturalborn feeder, I thought it would be great to use some of the fresh peaches to make fluffy marshmallows. These went down a storm with the team.” Top images provided by www.lancashireweddingphotography.co.uk Bottom images provided by www.daisybellphotography.co.uk 53 STYLED SHOOT
