Your North West Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 87)

Sadly, my grandad passed away a couple of years ago. It was really important that I incorporated something into the day to remember him by. We decided to have a memory chair on the front row with a small bunch of roses and a simple sign in a silver frame. I spent what felt like an eternity scrolling through Pinterest and wedding magazines trying to create the perfect look for our wedding and we could not have been happier with how it turned out on the day. We love walking in the Forest of Bowland, so the Shireburn Arms was the perfect place for our wedding. It incorporated the beautiful scenery that we love and we adored the intimate feel of the venue. To decorate the venue, we chose drapes hanging from the ceiling, an ivory chiffon fairylight background and an ivory skirt hung around the ceremony table. This added to the romantic, soft look that I had hoped to achieve. We wanted the flowers to be a main feature of our décor. We had flowers lining the aisle, a large display in front of the ceremony table and one on the table. We went for a simple Victoria sponge cake with vanilla icing decorated with roses and green foliage. We had a really intimate day, so our table plan had to reflect that. We had four guest tables and a sweetheart table for Ben and I, as we wanted time together during our magical day. Our centrepieces were beautiful. We had a range of ivory taper and pillar candles in glass holders, silver-beaded charger plates and ivory napkins that matched the chair sashes. 32
