We named our tables after places in the UK that are special to us. Trudi’s Cake Emporium provided our cake, which was made up of buttercream. We also had tiers of cupcakes with handcrafted sugar flowers. Our favours were miniature bottles of toffee vodka for the men and blue fruit liqueur for the ladies. To decorate the venue, we used white chair covers with light blue sashes, blue water glasses, balloons and white linen napkins. We had our ceremony at St Peter’s Church, where other members of our family have tied the knot. I have been the general manager of The Cumbria Grand Hotel for over 20 years and has overseen hundreds of weddings. The Victorian building has a large ballroom and beautiful grounds that were perfect for our wedding. The team went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day. 38
