Your North West Wedding - April/May 2024 (Issue 85)

FLORAL ROMANCE To help you find the perfect flowers for your wedding, Sarah Cox from Wild Ivy Floral Design (www.facebook.com/wildivypenrith) shares her top tips: My advice to couples who are planning an intimate wedding is to find suppliers who you are really compatible with, who understand your aesthetic, and who will enable you to achieve your dreams on the day. Small weddings are by nature intimate events and don’t tend to have the usual wedding props of larger-scale events, such as lighting, statement cakes, bridesmaids, etc.; they are more pared back, and therefore all the details are more visible. For us, the florals are so important; our style is wild yet elegant and is ideal for those couples who are looking for a wild elopement which they can take to the Fells for their photographs and enjoy the beauty of the Lake District landscape. STYLED TO PERFECTION The team at Purple Swan (www.purpleswanhire.co.uk) shares their tips for styling your wedding space: Many of our lovely couples now choose smaller weddings but still want something that looks pretty and reflects their vision and style. We have a stunning range of statement pieces that work beautifully, whatever your wedding size. We can recommend chair dressing, fairylights, and a gorgeous tablescape to get maximum impact for minimal cost. If you can, get in touch with your supplier at least a year before the wedding; that way, you are more likely to book your favourite vendors. If you have left it until the last minute, still get in touch, as vendors might have gaps in their calendar and be able to fit in a smaller wedding around the bigger ones. Ask if they have worked with your venue before, how often, and if they have example photos of their work. Bright colours are a key trend this year. Our colourful range bursts with the joyful exuberance of love and works especially well for a summer wedding. Sustainability continues to be of central importance to our couples, keen to ensure that while the styling for their wedding reflects the stunning landscapes of the Lakes, it has minimal impact on the environment. Making sure that the service we provide is as environmentally sustainable as possible is an integral part of our business and shapes all the choices we make, from recycling everything to only travelling locally. www.joemather-wedding-photography.co.uk www.joemather-wedding-photography.co.uk www.joemather-wedding-photography.co.uk www.dgoodierphotography.co.uk 56
