A band or DJ in the evening might be a bit overwhelming if there’s only a small crowd. Instead, why not try something a little different? A magician can perform casual walkaround magic or provide a bespoke show to engage all your family and give them something great to talk about. Whether it’s little kids, grandma, or anyone in between, magic is something that really connects generations and is a great way to get people laughing. Before booking a supplier, check their credentials. See if they look experienced in the industry. Have they won any awards or been recommended by other people you respect? Always make sure you talk to a supplier on the phone, not just by email, to really get a sense of what they’re like. I recommend getting in touch with suppliers as soon as you can, as they often get booked up years in advance. That said, it is never too late. Even if it’s just the week before, you might get lucky and find they have a space in their diary. If the supplier you really want isn’t available, have a chat with them; they may be able to recommend someone else who’d be suitable. Equally, if you want some alternative entertainment, have a chat with your venue or photographer; I’m sure they will have some great suggestions. Above all, make sure whoever you pick is a good representation of you as a couple. It’s your wedding day, so make sure you are booking something that you want to enjoy yourselves.
