Q&A Beauty Local experts offer advice on how to look your big-day best TAKE A DEEP BREATH How can I relax in the run-up to my wedding? Relaxing should be an essential part of wedding planning amidst all the organising and chaos. Remember to stay calm, after all, does it matter if some finer details are left out at the last moment? Take a moment to yourself to you reflect, work out what’s important, recharge and recalibrate. At the spa, we provide brides and grooms with a space to escape and unwind. For me, enjoying facials, massages, and other treatments is the ultimate way to relax. Booking regular treatments will allow you to enjoy some time out together as a couple or with family and friends ahead of the big day. If you get regular facials, you will be guaranteed beautiful, glowing skin ready for your make-up artist to work with. Don’t forget to ask your therapist for products to take home and skincare advice to help create the ultimate pre-wedding glow. Jenna Baines www.loftbeauty.co.uk HERE COME THE CURLS I have very frizzy hair and am worried about how it will look on my big day. How can I style it for the wedding? As someone with naturally curly hair, I feel your pain. Prep is always the key for me. Firstly, I would invest in a high-quality shampoo and conditioner to use on a regular basis. I am loving the brand Nine Yards as they are vegan and organic and don’t leave any nasty chemicals. I am also a big fan of Olaplex No.7, this acts as heat protection and will leave you with a silky finish. Around one month before the wedding, I would have the KeraStraight Ultimate Treatment. This is a non-chemical treatment which will help to tame frizz, improve the hair’s condition, make it more manageable and help styles last longer. On the big day, shampoo and condition your locks with your lovely new products, then ask your stylist to blow dry it to banish any frizz and close that cuticle fully. Any sign of moisture or dampness and the frizz will return so having 100 per cent dry hair is important. The products I would use include: ❤ A heat protection. ❤ An anti-frizz product. ❤ Some kind of cream/mouse to hold the style. I am also a fan of setting hair which allows it to cool and hold the style for longer. Extensions are a great idea, and I describe them to brides as their insurance since they do not frizz and hold a curl very well.
