Things can change from one day to the next, and the people in your community will always try their best to help. The civil registrar and vicar in the church made us feel really special and did their best to comply with COVID-19 regulations without making us miss out on a normal wedding. They made us forget about being in tier three due to their kindness and dedication to the job. Fernando felt anxious, excited and happy that we were officially starting a new chapter in our lives. I felt the same and couldn’t imagine growing old with anyone else. We were a bit sad that our families couldn’t physically be there, but they were more present in the end than we ever could have imagined. We spent the night of the wedding in Liverpool. We stayed in a river view room and then went to dinner at Lerpwl and had a lovely tasting menu. The day after the church and reception we went to London for a night and stayed in the Stafford Hotel before coming home to self-isolate. 24
