Your North West Wedding- August/September 2020 (Issue 63)
REAL WEDDINGS We made our wedding rings with the help of Patsy from MidasTouch Jewels. David’s an artist, so he appreciated wearing something he’d made. My dress was a mermaid off-the-shoulder gown called Bordeaux by Claire Pettibone. It was part of a collection that was inspired by nature, and the detailing made it look like grapes on a vine. As soon as I put it on, I could see myself walking down the aisle in it. I accessorised with a thin gold belt with leaf fastenings and a backlace from my mum. I was also lucky enough to win my headpiece and veil in a competition run by from Eden Luxe Bridal. The bridesmaids wore blush off-the-shoulder dresses from Quiz. I loved the sequin and lace detailing at the top and that the girls all felt comfortable in them. One of David’s childhood friends split his pants during the ceremony and had to do a quick run to Tesco to get a new pair! David chose dark blue tails and a waistcoat. The fit suited him well, and we loved how his dreadlocks looked against it. We completed the look with dark brown brogues. We felt overwhelmed with love and incredibly proud of all the hard work that we’d put into making it the day of our dreams. Seeing each other at the end of the aisle is something we will remember forever. 43
