Your North West Wedding- August/September 2020 (Issue 63)

The table plan was presented in the atrium on a gorgeous floral mirror provided by our venue stylists, Lancashire Chair Covers. We named our tables after places in Harry Potte r, and I used green and blush watercolour paint to decorate them. In the church, we had blush pink pompoms made from tissue paper to decorate the end of the benches. We also made a doughnut wall and bar sign made out of copper piping and fairylights. We visited a few beautiful venues, but when we entered the Great Hall at Rochdale Town Hall, it truly took our breath away. The architecture is outstanding, it’s so regal and looks like Hogwarts. We instantly knew it was the place for us. As we’re both vegans, we opted for a completely vegan menu which our venue was very happy to make for us. It was really important for us to showcase how incredible vegan food can be, so we took a lot of care in choosing what to serve. We had two different centrepieces, one was a white tree decorated with candles and rose blossoms, and the other were vases filled with water, candles and ivy. Our cake was kindly made by our friend’s mum. It was vegan chocolate covered in vegan buttercream. We used David’s yellow 1970s Volkswagen Campervan to take us from the church to the reception venue. His dad was our chauffeur and as we have had so many wonderful memories in the car, it only seemed fair that it played a part in our special day too. 42
