Your North West Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 62)
REAL WEDDINGS The biggest feature was the amazing crystal sweet table. It came from Brown Rose Events, and our loved ones all took home a bag of their favourite sweets. Paul wore a textured velvet dinner suit from Next. He didn’t want to look overly dressed for the formal birthday party that people thought they were attending. As my friends didn’t know they were bridesmaids until the night of the wedding I didn’t ask them to wear a specific dress. I managed to persuade them to wear all black and luckily they looked fabulous together. We also had a magic mirror from Easy Events. This was the part of the day that I was most unsure about, but from start to finish, it was always in use. Our guests still talk about how much they loved using it and have some amazing photographs to treasure. I also liked that Easy Events provided us with an album of all the images that were taken on the night. Shopping for my dress was a little unusual as it all had to be done in secret. I first saw my gown online, it was a Morilee design called Maribella , and I instantly fell in love with it. I went with my mum to try it on and purchased it from the sample sale at Natalie Ann Brides. For the legal ceremony, I had a different dress by Morilee which was covered in lace so Paul was shocked when he saw how plain my main gown was. The day was pretty manic making sure everything was organised. I was worried about people turning up or being angry that they didn’t know they were coming to a wedding. Once the evening began, and the initial panic was over we were so happy, relaxed and excited that we’d managed to pull it off. 37
