Your North West Wedding- April/May 2020 (Issue 61)
My dress was a Pronovias design called Davinia from Eternity Bridalwear. I was initially unsure of the style I wanted, but once I’d tried it on, I knew it was the one. I loved the mixture of silk and lace, the shoulders, and how pretty it looked. Ann the seamstress was amazing, she was so patient and fit the dress perfectly to my shape. Our cake was four tiers and made up from chocolate sponge, vanilla and dime buttercream, gin and tonic sponge and lemon. We purchased it from Jo’s Cakery and decorated it with buttercream, fruit and flowers. We also added a light dusting of gold glitter and a wooden cake-topper. For our flowers, we chose roses, peonies and foliage from The Rose Boutique. I also had a single yellow rose in my bouquet as it was my granddad’s favourite. Sarah Crookston was amazing, and the blooms were more than we could have asked for. For Jack’s suit, we visited Ted Baker and decided on a tuxedo with a velvet bow tie. We fell in love with Ashfield House as soon as we walked in. It felt grand, traditional and very homely. I loved the décor and thought it would look beautiful with lots of roses and candles. The staff were great, especially Josh, who made us feel really calm and ensured everything ran smoothly. Jack loves James Bond, so we decided to have themed table names. We bought gold picture frames and my sister hand-painted the film names on them. These complemented the candles and rose gold centrepieces perfectly. REAL WEDDINGS 33
