Your North West Wedding- April/May 2020 (Issue 61)
REAL WEDDINGS 29 R achel and Richard met at work in 2013. “Rich was assigned as my mentor, so we ended up spending lots of time together,” says Rachel. “As cheesy as it sounds, we couldn’t stay away from each other from the minute we met, and that hasn’t changed since!” Richard popped the question in Kynance Cove in Cornwall. “I had no idea and was wondering why Rich wouldn’t let me tuck into the picnic,” shares the bride. “When there was no one else in the cove, he got down on one knee and popped the question. It was a massive surprise, and we couldn’t have been happier.” SETTING THE SCENE “We fell in love with The Wellbeing Farm from the second we walked in,” explains Rachel. “It had so much personality and the laid-back vibe we wanted. We chose Lancashire as that’s where I’m originally from, and we ended up moving just around the corner. The animals were a lovely touch, and we were so happy with our choice.” The couple chose an R&R theme for their big day. “We have lots of memorabilia that everyone laughs at in our home,” shares the bride. “We know how much our friends and family love a party, so sloe gin with rustic labels seemed the obvious choice for our favours.” The lovebirds incorporated flowers into their décor from L&C Floral Design Manchester. “We chose natural, rustic and wild-looking blooms to continue our theme,” Rachel adds. “The venue was so well decorated that we wanted to keep things simple yet effective.” Rachel and Richard decided to have a savoury cake provided by The Wellbeing Farm. “We chose a cheese and pork pie filling,”
