Your North West Wedding - Feb/Mar 2020 (Issue 60)
In the evening, we had The Funtime Frankies and DJ Paul O’Brien perform. The entertainment was a massive hit, and everyone was singing and dancing. Our friends and family had a great time, much to my relief, as I’d spent a lot of time and effort planning. I work at PC Roadshows and wanted to create a fun and lively day full of entertainment. We go to a lot of concerts together and wanted to re-create that atmosphere on the day. A lot of my work colleagues and their families were in attendance, and we wanted them to feel like they were celebrating rather than working. I designed a sound and lighting rig to really add a wow factor. We had confetti cannons set off during the first dance, and a Vegas- inspired monogram that we had projected onto the dancefloor The wedding breakfast was fun and lively. Gavin Young sang during the meal and was also master of ceremonies for the day. He chose lots of upbeat songs and encouraged our guests to get out of their seats and party. The bridesmaids opted for pink chiffon dresses with beaded detail from Trudy Smith Bridal. As it was an autumn wedding, the girls accessorised with grey cropped jackets and had flower combs placed in their hair. The groomsmen and I wore matching grey, three-piece suits from Slater Menswear. We personalised the outfits with Mr Men cufflinks and socks that matched each of our personalities. Andrea wore an ivory Ronald Joyce dress from Trudy Smith Bridal. She wanted something age-appropriate and loved the pleated skirt and long train. She changed into a second gown for the evening so she could feel more comfortable dancing the night away. She accessorised with a tiara, a veil, earrings and a bracelet and in the evening she re-styled her hair to incorporate a hair vine. REAL WEDDINGS 55
