Your North West Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 58)
My dear mother-in-law, Sheila, is very talented, so together we created hundreds of pompoms and crochet flowers that we attached to trailing ribbons. I came across my dress in a magazine and instantly knew it was the one. It was designed by Hazaar of London and was stocked at the most amazing bridal boutique, The Case of the Curious Bride. Leanne and Melanie pushed the boat out for me and made the whole experience feel like a dream. I literally jumped up and down with delight when I tried it on. I accessorised with an old denim jacket, with a neon pink fringe trim and a sequinned heart on the back. My shoes were inspired by rainbows and made me feel like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz . Our day was full of fun and games. We had a quiz for our nearest and dearest and giant garden games for the children. Scott and the groomsmen opted for blue suits from Burton. They finished their look with pink floral ties from Next, and Scott wore a pair of dazzling socks. My bridesmaids chose their dresses from Needle & Thread. They each carried a tambourine decorated with trailing ribbons and flowers. To keep our everyone entertained, we hired magician Rockstar Magic, who made our guests’ jaws drop. We also booked a local band called Hit The Dance Floor and a magic mirror from Scene My Event. Our favourite part of the day was the animals. We loved seeing the llamas, alpacas and donkeys; they were very gentle and even wore bow ties. REAL WEDDINGS 47
